Human Rights and Sustainable Procurement Webinar

The "Human Rights and Sustainable Procurement: Emerging good practices and lessons learned" webinar, taking place on the 19 October at 2:00 – 3:30pm CEST, will be hosted by the United Nations Environment Economy Division and co-organized with ICLEI and the Danish Institute for Human Rights. The webinar takes place in the framework of the Sustainable Public Procurement Programme of the 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns.

The 10YFP SPP programme is a global platform that supports the implementation of SPP around the world. It brings together a variety of stakeholders, building synergies & leveraging resources to progress towards its two major goals of building the case for SPP and supporting SPP implementation on the ground.

The objectives of this webinar are to:

  • Highlight human rights as material risks affecting public supply chains
  • for goods such as electronics, apparel, food, and services such as healthcare and security

  • Introduce participants to new standards, guidance, and tools on human rights and public procurement

  • Identify emerging good practices and lessons learned from recent practitioner experiences of integrating human rights safeguards
