28 November 2019
Helsinki, Finland

The European Commission together with the Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment and the Finnish Competence Center for Sustainable and Innovative Public Procurement KEINO - one of the Procure2Innovate associate countries - is organising an interactive seminar on ‘Fostering innovation and measuring its impact in public procurement’.

The seminar will provide an insight into how to measure innovative procurement and its impact, on both national and organisational levels. Ongoing initiatives as well as new ideas and concepts to enhance the impact of public procurement and its contribution to a more competitive and innovative economy, and the transition towards carbon-neutrality will be discussed. The seminar will be a great opportunity to share insights on practical experiences and next steps.

After the opening addresses by a representative of the Ministry of Economy and Employment, Finland, and Marzena Rogalska, Director of the Directorate for Single Market for Public Administrations, DG GROW, European Commission, there will be two panel discussions. First one, on measuring and justifying the choice for sustainable and innovative procurement. The second one, on promoting sustainable innovations and societal impact in public procurement, and the importance of practical support.
