The European Nearly Zero Energy Buildings Conference will take place on 2-3 March 2017 in Wels, Austria, in the context of the annual World Sustainable Energy Days 2017 (WSED). The conference focuses on NZEBs and smart buildings and takes place in the context of Europe sharp increase in the market uptake of highly efficient buildings. The Conference considers the EU Buildings Directive, according to which, all new buildings must be "nearly zero energy buildings" by 2020 (public buildings by 2018).

The Conference topics will include, among others, new construction and deep renovation of buildings/quarters/cities, smart cities and sustainable architecture and will also be presenting good practice examples for domestic, public, commercial buildings and social housing and results of EU-funded projects.
