ICLEI's work on sustainable and innovation procurement over the past 20 years has been profiled in PSS Magazine, exploring the city association’s past initiatives in the field and looking at ICLEI's plans to strengthen its network of engaged stakeholders as a means to push forward sustainable and innovation procurement.

The article was written by procurement expert and member of ICLEI's Sustainable Economy and Procurement team Dr. John Watt. John specialises in sustainable procurement in the public sector and is closely involved in the Procura+ Network, which counts more than 40 European public authorities and regions dedicated to exchanging on sustainable and innovative procurement, and the Global Lead Cities Network (GLCN) on SP.

The GLCN on SP is a group of 12 cities committed to drive a transition to sustainable consumption and production by implementing sustainable and innovation procurement. As part of ICLEI’s 20 year celebrations the hashtag #SPPecialists has been launched on Twitter. All those involved in sustainable and innovation procurement activities are encouraged to join the conversation by using this hashtag.
