Balearic Island SPP Network holds its second networking event

Thirty-four participants from central, regional and local governments of the Balearic Islands attended the second SPP Networking event the 1st December 2017. The event was intended as a training and awareness raising event for the inclusion of environmental considerations in public procurement. The event was attended by environmental and procurement experts and other professionals in the sector.

The main objectives of the event were to learn more about ecolabels for the verification of environmental criteria, to understand how to introduce environmental considerations in different phases of the procurement process and to highlight the importance of communicating the benefits of possible achievements through GPP (green public procurement).

The Balearic Island Network on SPP has been established under the SPP Regions project, coordinated by ICLEI, which aims to promotes the creation and expansion of European regional networks of municipalities working together on sustainable public procurement (SPP) and public procurement of innovation (PPI).
